The GT40/R COMPETITION
The GT40/R COMPETITION
There are few racecars more cemented in the memories of today’s race drivers than the iconic GT40®. Built with an unprecedented budget to beat Ferrari at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the GT40 went on to exceed all expectations – winning in 1966, 1967, 1968, and 1969. Driven by such storied drivers as Ickx, Foyt, McLaren, Miles, and Gurney, the GT40 became synonymous with championship-winning, high-performance, high-reliability sports car racing. But with original cars selling in the millions of dollars, until recently it was believed that historic and vintage racing would rarely see GT40s race again.
Pathfinder Motorsports LLC is proud to reintroduce the GT40 racecar – bolt-for-bolt virtually identical to the original – and approved for historic racing. Not a replica. Not a kitcar. The GT40R.

The Pathfinder GT40R Value Proposition
Would you prefer an original GT40 but don’t have the spare million dollars or more to buy one? Then consider the Pathfinder GT40R: It is bolt-for-bolt virtually identical to the original Ford GT40. It’s licensed by Safir GT40 Spares and is the only car being built today that can legally be called a ‘GT40’; it comes with a continuation ‘P’ chassis number, picking up where the originals left off; it’s final assembly is in accordance with the original GT40s for Ford; it can be had with FIA-eligible engines - just like the originals; and it can be configured to be indistinguishable from the GT40s made in the 1960’s. All of this for about the same cost as a GT40 replica. Low cost. Better construction. More authentic. Higher re-sale value. And a true racecar. That’s the Pathfinder Value Proposition.
